Colleen Combs, Manager - NY Central
Started: October 2007
Background: Worked for Cornell Cooperative Extensions Cutler Botanical Gardens while a student at SUNY Binghamton, loved it! It was a teaching garden and I learned so much. Then I got into landscaping, because I love working with plants and people, and being outside. ICS is a new venture for me, and I'm really enjoying it so far.
Why ICS? I saw the ad on Craigslist, and thought, that sounds interesting! Then I met Mark- and during my interview he was all over the place, people were calling, emailing and talking to him from all directions, and I realized that was just normal for him, and that really impressed me- every day is different, there is always something new going on- it's exciting.
What I like most about what I do: Meeting so many people every day, learning about my reps, it amazes me that they are all so different, personality wise, and all do such a good job. I love when I walk into a store and just say, Wow, this looks good. That is the best feeling, knowing that there is someone that works really hard in the store and takes pride in their work. Thanks for all of your hard work, guys! Also I could not do it without the awesome support of Mark, Kristin, Donna, Janet, and of course Candy!
Where do you want to be in 2-5 years? I don't know! I'm lucky if I have my schedule for next week planned out!

“I joined ICS because I love working in the plant and nursery industry and found this to be a new challenge. I also enjoy the flexibility, traveling from store to store and the freedom of the job.”
